P5QL-M EPU-CM5671 ASUS Socket 775 G43 Desktop Motherboard System w I/O Shield. This motherboard is used and is in good working order. This was removed from a fully working system. Note that the fan, heatsink, CPU, memory, and any other parts or accessories are NOT included. Little Bit of Dated hardware but so far I can't complain. Going from a MacBook Pro 2008 to this has been needed. Don't have much money to spend on a new mac and I spent About 200 for this. Here are my specs. Hi all, Hoping someone here can shed some light on a little problem I've encountered. As mentioned i'm using the P5QL pro. The box is a new build, couple of days old. I have 3 chassis fans, 2 of which run to separate headers on the mainboard. In my bios (latest, released July 08), under the power tab hardware monitor, there's an entry for 'chassis fan speed'. By default this came up as N/A, the only other option is to set it to 'ignored'. Apparently this only happens if the chassis fans are not connected to the mainboard.

They definitely are, and are working. It should display an RPM value. The cpu fan readout works as intended. Consequently AI Suite & Fan Expert don't see the chassis fans either.
Can anybody suggest why this is happening? Thanks for the reply. Disregard most of that, I messed up. All three chassis fans were running to psu power. This has been rectified, i have one of them running to the mainboard. Its' rpm is recognised in the bios. Now the question is 'why doesn't Asus Fan Expert list the chassis fan as an option'.

You have a drop down list, cpu fan is there and works, then a blank entry. The chassis fan rpm is displayed in the AI Suite however.

Here is my Asus P5QL-Pro DSDT, Kexts and files, it has been patched for the following: NVidia HDMI audio HDEF Orange SATA Icon fix. The only Extensions you need are: E/E: FakeSMC AttansicL1eEthernet (LAN) JMicronATA (only if using ATA) S/L/E: AppleHDA (Onboard Audio) I dont use the Onboard Audio and instead use HDMI audio on the GT 610. This keeps S/L/E untouched/vanilla and makes updating pretty much hassle free. Also by putting the 'boot' file and Extra folder on the hidden EFI partition you can keep the whole drive clean. This means that your Mac partition and the Recovery/BaseSystem partition are both 100% vanilla.Note. Always use latest Chameleon bootloader This is all you need for 10.8.3+ (10.8.4 tested ok). Edit.
